Car Seat Safety

It is estimated that over 75% of child deaths and injuries due to motor vehicle collisions could be prevented with the proper installation and use of car seats.

Car seat inspections are a free service provided by St. John Ambulance, York Region Branch.

Upcoming dates for Car Seat Clinics in the York Region are as follows:

• January 26, 2008 - 984 Gorham Street - NEWMARKET - Hosted by Central York Fire Services (1 block west of Leslie, south of Davis Dr. - North of Mulock)
• February 23, 2008 - 2045 King Road - KING CITY ñ Hosted by King Fire Department. On King Road between Keele Street and Dufferin (On south side of King Road)
• March 29, 2008 - 191 Major Mackenzie Drive West ñ RICHMOND HILL - Hosted by Richmond Hill Fire Department (West of Yonge Street across from York Regional Police Station)

Clinics run between 10:00am - 2:00pm. It is First Come/First Serve, please note it takes approximately 1/2 hour per seat, and there may be a wait to have your car seat checked. Therefore you may want to bring snacks and drinks for your child(ren).

Please make sure you bring your owner's manual for your car, the car seat manual and the child if possible. Please try to have your seat installed before arriving, and be ready to assist our volunteer technicians in the inspection process.

If the seat is a Forward Facing Seat, please have your anchor bolt already installed; we do not have the equipment or training to install the bolt.
